Every Hero Has A Story, Summer Reading 2015
Summer is upon us and with this great season comes one of our favorite programs, the summer reading program, where you get to earn prizes for doing what you would be doing anyway, reading! This year's theme is Every Hero Has A Story, so we will be focusing on superheroes, from Wonder Woman and Superman to all of the superheroes in our communities. Sign up for the program online through our hamptonlibrary.org website, click on the Kids & Family link and choose the appropriate program for you. Read anything your heart desires, from magazines to graphic novels, to newspapers, fiction and nonfiction, anything you want, keep track of the books and the time spent reading online by logging into your account and earn prizes. You can keep track of all your reading from any computer with an internet connection and you will be able to see when you have earned prizes. To collect the all you need to do is come into the library and speak to one of the children's librarians and they will award you your prizes. Sign up and get started now, the more reading you do the more prizes you'll earn, the more adventures you can go on, and the more you'll learn.
Rock out at the Hampton Library! Fun for the entire family. With two albums out and a third waiting to be dropped, this hard working, rocking duo is fun that the whole family will enjoy. Join us in our beautiful backyard for an afternoon of good tunes and good times. With songs like, “High Five Your Shadow” and “How to Eat a Cloud” you can guess the type of fun you are in for. Visit their website www.ratboyjr.com to check out what they have to offer as they are kind enough to let you listen to their entire collection.
Celebrate this tradition that encourages our local schoolchildren to unleash their creative writing and illustrating potential! We are very excited that this popular program is in its 23rd year. This year’s reception will include refreshments and a visit from Susan Verde author of The Museum and You and Me. Visit the library between Tuesday, March 31 and Thursday, April 30 to see the children’s work on display in the library gallery. This year we are offering an evening reception for all family members to enjoy. See Josh or Amy in the Children’s Room for more details.
Please Note: Playapalooza on 3/31 is CANCELED in order to prepare for our Budding Author Event.
